Exclusive summer programs
ASU FIDM offers pre-college summer programs in both Downtown Phoenix and Los Angeles for high school and community college students ages 15 through 19. Led by ASU FIDM faculty, these camps are designed to expose students to the different pathways in the fashion industry, from design to styling to marketing, all while building foundational skills and networks.

What to expect
The ASU FIDM Intro to Fashion Design Summer Camp in Phoenix is guided by ASU FIDM faculty and visiting industry experts at the ASU’s Downtown Phoenix innovation hub, Fusion on First, you'll explore illustration, sewing, patternmaking, trend forecasting and more. Forge new friendships, learn new skills and ignite your passion for style at the ASU FIDM Fashion Design Camp.

The Intro to Fashion Design in Los Angeles will be guided by ASU FIDM expert faculty and by visiting industry experts in the heart of the West Coast fashion industry. Students will explore illustration, sewing, patternmaking, trend forecasting and more. Make unforgettable memories while learning new skills and igniting your passion for style at the ASU FIDM Fashion Design Camp in LA.

Step into the fast-paced world of fashion at the ASU FIDM Intro to Fashion Merchandising Summer Camp in Los Angeles! Set in the heart of the DTLA Fashion District, this immersive experience takes you behind the scenes of the fashion industry, where creativity meets strategy and ideas become brands. Explore trend forecasting, product development, buying and merchandising through hands-on projects and industry field trips, while gaining insider insight into how fashion moves from concept to consumer. Connect with fellow fashion-forward students, build real-world skills and soak up the energy of one of the world’s most influential fashion cities for a summer experience you won’t forget.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a day camp, or are there overnight options?
All camps in Arizona and Los Angeles are day camps only. Hours are from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. There are no overnight options.
- Currently, there are no ASU-hosted boarding options for these camps, however, ASU does have relationships with several hotels in the area. For hotels with affiliate/corporate codes, please visit the ASU Visit website at visit.asu.edu/travel. The LA Proper Hotel, Hotel Per La and The Hoxton are all within a 10-minute walking distance of our Los Angeles location. We also recommend the Freehand Hotel and the Hotel Figueroa. For our Phoenix campus, the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown, Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix Downtown and Hyatt Place Phoenix/Downtown are all within a 10-minute walking distance. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from camp, as well as any necessary housing.
What is the cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy for 2026 will be shared after registration opens. Please review the cancellation policy for 2025 if you want an idea of what to expect.
Each camp has a different cancellation policy that you can review when you get to the Payment page of the registration form.
For the Intro to Fashion Design – Phoenix, June 9– 13, 2025:
If a student withdraws before May 12, a refund may be issued less the $100 non-refundable deposit.
If a student withdraws between May 12–June 9 due to a medical reason approved by the camp coordinator, a 50% refund may be issue
For the Intro to Fashion Design - Los Angeles and the Intro to Fashion Design - Los Angeles camps, both June 16–20, 2025:
- If a student withdraws before May 19, a refund may be issued less the $100 non-refundable deposit.
- If a student withdraws between May 19–June 16 due to a medical reason approved by the camp coordinator, a 50
For the Intro to Fashion Design II - Los Angeles, June 13–27, 2025
- If a student withdraws before May 26, a refund may be issued less the $100 non-refundable deposit.
- If a student withdraws between May 26–June 23, due to a medical reason approved by the camp coordinator, a 50% refund may be issued.
- No refund will be issued if a student withdraws after the start of the program.
- In the unlikely event camp is cancelled due to low registration, students will be notified prior to the start date and as far in advance as possible and issued a full refund.
- ASU FIDM is not responsible for any travel related expenses due to cancellation

- Yes
What materials do participants need to bring?
- It is not required to bring materials. Everything required for camp activities will be provided. Faculty may suggest the option to bring materials for some workshops.
